Transition to Teaching Receives High Rating
The Transition to Teaching (TTT) program, an initiative supported by the Kentucky Department of Education, school districts and state universities, has been rated an “Effective” federal program by the Office of Management and Budget in Washington, D.C. TTT is only the sixth federal education program and the first discretionary program that funds educational services to receive the rating, which is the highest a program can achieve. A Guide to the Kentucky System of Interventions
The Kentucky System of Intervention (KSI) is a framework for providing systematic, comprehensive services to address academic and behavioral needs for all students, preschool through grade 12. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has developed this guidance document to provide resources in planning and decision making as districts and schools develop a system of intervention to meet the needs of all students.

i-Jam offers resources for safe, effective use of technology
Kentucky Child Now!, along with the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General and the Kentucky Department of Education, sponsors i-Jam, an initiative designed to provide resources and information to help keep children safe in the online, virtual world. The 2008 i-Jam Internet Safety Conference is set for Nov. 24 and 25 at the Lexington Downtown Hotel and Conference Center. See more information about the conference and the i-Jam initiative here.
2009 Kentucky Schools of Character Awards
Every year, the Character Education Partnership (CEP) names approximately 10 public and private schools and districts (K-12) as National Schools of Character (NSOC) for their outstanding work in character education. The awards program honors these exemplars, showcases their work, and facilitates their leadership in the field of character education. Applicants Sought for Highly Skilled Educator Program
Applicants are now being sought for the 2009-10 Highly Skilled Educator (HSE) Cadre. The HSE program provides support to low-performing public schools by placing individuals in those schools to work with teachers, administrators and other staff to improve student achievement. Draud Outlines Kentucky's Progress in P-12 Education
