KCHIP: Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program is for children under the age of 19 who do not have health insurance and whose family income is below 200 percent of the federal poverty level

EPSDT: Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment – provides preventative health care for children and teens; specialty health care for medically necessary services.
LHD: Local Health Departments – provide WIC, nutrition, breastfeeding, and other women’s health services. LHD also provide pediatric health services including child physicals, immunizations, fluoride varnish, lead screening and case management, and infectious disease services.

WIC: (Women, Infants, and Children) Nutritional Support Program – Administered by LHD; provides a monthly food package, nutrition education, and access to maternal, prenatal and pediatric health care services to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5.
